Graham Cowie

Our staff are our most valuable asset, and as many have been with us for several decades, it is quite an event when team members change – both for us and for our customers who have grown used to seeing the same faces looking after their boilers over many years.
So when our previous gas boiler engineer decided that after almost 14 years with us it was time for him to try something new, replacing him was clearly going to be a big challenge.
Fortunately we found someone capable of meeting that challenge. We are delighted to introduce our new gas service engineer, Graham Cowie – and we’ll let him tell you a little about himself…

"Hello! I'm Graham and I'm Westall’s newest recruit to the technical team. I was born and bred in Hexham so know the area well and really enjoy living in this beautiful part of the world.

I’ve been a gas engineer for 16 years now and still enjoy what I do – every day is different and I enjoy the challenge of never knowing quite what I will face! That’s particularly true at Westalls where we cover such a wide range of different customers and appliances – including domestic and commercial, LPG and natural gas.

I thrive on doing a great job with minimum fuss but maximum effect. Westalls have invested in lots of training for me so that I can cover the widest range of appliances which has provided me with the right skills & certification to (hopefully!) repair your central heating quickly when disaster strikes. Heating and hot water is crucial to all of us and I’m passionate about helping our customers to get theirs working as efficiently as possible.


My main passion of course is my family. I am married and have twin boys who will be 6 in November (who needs sleep?!). I won’t lie – it’s the hardest but most rewarding challenge yet. They are my greatest achievement, especially now they have their own minds and tell me I stink! (I don’t!!) Prior to all this I served my time for Queen & country, spending 7 years in the Army.

I like to think I’m an easy-going person, and very approachable. I have empathy & determination so really feel it when customers are having problems and will do my utmost to resolve them. I look forward to meeting you over the coming months and hope that you will entrust me to look after your boiler for many years to come!"
