Our History

JPW Renewables’ heritage dates back to the mid-1930s, when William Walker established a plumbing business in Hexham. After the Second World War, it became J P Westall, building a reputation for quality workmanship throughout the Tyne Valley.

The business passed to Philip Westall in 1986, with his brother Peter later joining to support its growth. In the early 1990s, the company moved to its current premises on Burn Lane. Notable projects included work at Ridley Hall, the National Trust’s Cragside House and three local high schools.

In July 2015, Northumbrian Property Services Group Limited acquired the business, preserving its commitment to craftsmanship, customers and staff.

Today, JPW Renewables builds on that experience through integrated solar, battery storage and heat pump solutions, helping customers reduce their reliance on fossil fuels.

Plan the right system for your property

High bills, an ageing boiler or uncertainty about renewable technology can leave you wondering where to begin. We start by looking at your property, energy use and aims. From solar panels and battery storage to air source and ground source heat pumps, we can design one system or focus on the technology you need now.
We also install, service and repair gas and oil boilers, so you can compare practical options without being pushed down one route.

Excellent service installing the air source heat pump. Contractor explained fully what was involved, timing and house disruption. They kept to the schedule, advised me every time the water or electricity had to be turned off, brought supplementary heating in the interim as it was cold winter and were helpful and considerate, even to ensuring there was hot water in the evening and night. All completed in 5 days. Happy customer.

Start now and leave room for later

You don't have to install every renewable technology at once. We can plan the first stage so solar panels, battery storage or a heat pump can be added later without losing sight of the complete system. By coordinating generation, stored electricity and heating demand, we help you use energy more effectively. We provide property visits across the stated coverage areas, with free renewable site surveys and free quotes available from our Hexham base.
